Module II of Section III of Paper-I (SSC CGL Computer Proficiency Syllabus)
The Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) is part of Module II in Section III of Paper-I. This test will be held during Session II on the same day as the examination.
The DEST assesses candidates’ typing skills. It involves typing a passage consisting of approximately 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes. The test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s typing speed and accuracy. Detailed instructions for the test will be provided by the respective Regional Offices of the Commission.
For the Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax) posts, the DEST is mandatory and will be conducted as part of the SSC CGL 2022 exam. Candidates will be required to type 2000 words in English within 15 minutes on a computer.
Please note that while the DEST is mandatory for all candidates, it is qualifying in nature, meaning it will not contribute to the overall score but must be cleared to qualify for further stages of selection.
