SSC CHSL Skill Test for DEO/DEO Grade A Posts |
For candidates applying for DEO/DEO Grade A posts in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and the Ministry of Culture, the typing proficiency test will assess the ability to type 15,000 key depressions per hour on a computer. The test requires candidates to accurately type words/key depressions from a provided passage. The duration of the test is 15 minutes, during which candidates will be given printed English text containing approximately 3,700 to 4,000 key depressions that need to be entered into the computer. For candidates applying for DEO/DEO Grade A posts in other departments, the Data Entry Speed Test will evaluate a typing speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on the computer. Candidates will need to accurately input words/key depressions from a provided passage within 15 minutes. The printed English material provided will contain approximately 2,000 to 2,200 key depressions to be entered during the test. |
SSC CHSL Typing Test for LDC/JSA Post |
Candidates have the option to choose either Hindi or English as the medium for the Typing Test during the application process. Those selecting English must achieve a typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.), while candidates opting for Hindi should attain a speed of 30 w.p.m. These typing speeds correspond to approximately 10,500 key depressions per hour for English and 9,000 key depressions per hour for Hindi. The Typing Test will assess the candidates’ ability to type a given text passage accurately within a 10-minute time frame. Candidates who are eligible for a scribe, as per the specified guidelines, will be granted an additional 5 minutes, extending the Typing Test duration to 15 minutes. |
